A Lawyer Finds Real Fulfillment Merging Her Two Passions

A female attorney was satisfied with her job in a tech startup but was convinced that her real fulfillment would come from developing a coaching practice.

How We Helped

Paula coached the client one-on-one using her proprietary methodology that involved brain/body integration. The coaching exercises and their application to the client’s questions surfaced many things the client was sometimes dimly aware of and sometimes not aware of at all.

Even though she was smart and had a good education, she was brought up to feel that the woman’s role was to sacrifice herself for her family. She also felt that her opinion as a woman was not as valuable as that of a man, and she shouldn’t speak up too much, especially with male bosses.

She later said: “I was a person to whom life happened”.

Results Achieved

  • As a result of our work together, she was able to overcome her conditioning, so she started to be more active in meetings, speak up and voice her opinions and volunteer for more projects.
  • She started to be recognized as a leader and promoted.
  • When the startup was bought by another company, many of her colleagues were let go but my client was retained and promoted to a leadership position.
  • She was also given the opportunity to do some in-house training, her real passion.
"I never thought that I would be fulfilled in a job. I thought I would need to leave the corporate path and have my own practice. But now, I live the life of my dreams."
