Female Construction Company CEO Stands Out in a Male Dominated Industry

A female owner of a construction company found it challenging to operate in a male-dominated field. She felt ignored by some of the contractors and subcontractors. She wanted to get a contact in a specific area that had been controlled by the same male contactor for 5 years, so she needed to confront the person in the agency in charge of contracts.

How We Helped

Paula coached the client one-on-one using her proprietary methodology that involved brain/body integration. The coaching exercises and their application to the client’s questions surfaced many things that were affecting the client’s confidence and her self-assertion.

Her conditioning included a belief that men are honorable and trustworthy which limited her ability to see the reality of people she was dealing with.

Results Achieved

  • As we worked together, she became more realistic in assessing the individuals she was negotiating with, more confident in her construction estimate bidding and was able to successfully advocate for herself with the bureaucracy administering the contracts.
  • She no longer allowed men to intimidate her and successfully delivered on many projects.
